The beginning of School Blog Hop Day 2

Welcome to Day 2 of :
The Beginning of School Blog Hop
Aug 13th & 14th

Okay so lets get right to it today.... okay if you happened to have just stopped by out of the clear blue.... I thank you very much.  If not then you should be arriving to my blog via the Beginning of School Blog Hop hosted by Kathryn if you'd like to start at the beginning of the hop just click here if your hopping along on the hop then you should be arriving here from Jen's blog then your in the right spot.

For my project today I made a card for my Nephew who will be starting Kindergarten this year.... wow it seems like yesterday I was watching him for my sister and changing his diapers.  Now he's growing up... and Kindergarten is such a great grade.

Both of my kids are in High School now so, we're more focused on .... the future.  There have been tons of cut backs in our school district that I'm sure this year should prove to be very interesting... I mean how can they cut the sports and the arts programs....that's a topic for another time.

Okay onto my project if you remember yesterday I made a cute card featuring this adorable bookworm
that was donated by Jen's Digi Stamps if you haven't already checked her online store out you need to she has some really great digital stamps on there.

For todays card I made a swiper card and I used this adorable digi from Jen's Digi Stamps

Supplies:

ATG Adhesive gun
Studio G i-clear Stamp 1 "good luck"
Karen Foster Design "Writing Paper"
Glossy Accents by Inkssentials
American Crafts Ditto Stamp Markers Black
Colorbok " Bright Red, and White " Paper
Singo White Gel Pen
Copic Markers Various Colors
Martha Stewarts Writing Marker in Black
Martha Stewarts Score Board

Card opened up

Card closed and close up.

Details:

     1.  Cut 2 - 4 1/4"  X 6 3/4"  pieces of red paper.  One for the front of the card and one for the back of the card.

     2.  I Scored each piece of the red paper I just cut exactly the same.  I scored them at 5" and again at 5 3/4" .  The 5" score in the mountian fold and the 5 3/4" score is the valley fold.

     3.  Cut a 2 1/2 " X 3" piece of white cardstock for the swiper.

     4.  Next I used my American Crafts ditto Stamp Marker in black and my Studio G i-clear stamp  "good luck" and I stamped good luck on the piece of white cardstock.

     5. Then, I scored the lower left corner 3/4" from the corner and then I folded that piece back to make the swiper.

      6.  Adhere a peice of double sided tape to the folded corner.

     7.  On the inside of the card base front measure down from the top 2" along the 5 3/4" fold line and adhere the corner of the swiper there.  Flush up against the card, not with the corner bent over.

     8. Next, I  adhered the  card front and back together using, my ATG adhesive gun.  If you do it correctly the swiper should fold in when the ends of the card are pushed together and pop out when the ends are pulled apart.

     9. Using my black Martha Stewart writing marker I wrote out "Have a Great Year in Kindergarten, Evan"

     10.  I Cut a 4" by 6 1/2" piece of the writing paper and adhered that to the front of the card with my ATG.

     11.  Lastly I attached, Jen's digi stamp, " Boy in pencil cup" That you can purchase from here.  He was colored in with my new Copic Markers.  Be patient with me as I learn how to use them correctly and I add to my collection.
