Christmas Banner "NOEL"

Christmas Banner
"NOEL"

I'm not sure if you've seen this or not but Provo Craft, the makers of The Original Cricut, The Cricut Expression, The Imagine (which I will be purchasing sometime after the holidays, next year at some point) and my other favorite is the Gypsy!!!

Long story short they have come out with this cartridge:

I just love this cartridge for making banners..... so cute!!!  I highly reccomend this cartridge.

I'm going to make this a really quick post.... I have dinner going.  If you really want to know the deets on the banner just leave me a comment and I'll get to it after the holiday.  I made this to hang between our living room and dining room area so I wanted it to a double sided banner.

Here's the one side:

And here is the other side:
This is the side of the banner that shows into our Living room where our Christmas Tree is... see it's on.

Before I get to the pictures of the Christmas tree I'm going to show you a few close up shots of the banner so that you can see the details on it.  I inked the edges of the letters.  The letters were taken from the BlackLetter Cricut Cartridge.  I also added some silver stickles to the letters... I think they came out so cute.

For the Holly Berries I used some very small Martha Stewart beads... these things are so cool but, boy do they roll everywhere!!!

Okay now here's the picture of our Christmas Tree for this year.
It's a real one BABY!!!!  Don't mind the blue sheet that it's sitting on.  I didn't want to take a chance with my good hardwood floors.  This was just a real quick pic that I took.  The better pictures are still on the camera.

Thank you so much for coming by today.  I know how hectic it is with the Holidays just about in full swing.... I will be trying to post some more posts soon.
Thanks for much,
Be Creative today,
Michelle

Glass Blocks...... I love em'

Glass Blocks for Christmas Home Decor

Ahhh.... I have to say that I have found my NEW FAVORITE thing to decorate with!!!

It's Glass Blocks!!!!

Now .... I could only find these up  my way in my Wal-Mart.... well I found only 1 at a Wal-mart that was 25 Miles from my house in Wilkes Barre, Pa.

When I walked into the aisle there was another lady standing in there with her hubby and I could tell they were looking for something but, I couldn't tell what.  So I knew where the blocks were so I dart there and I don't see any... then I bend all the way over and go in up to my shoulders.... ( my arms are short).... I pull one of these bad boys out.
The woman sees me and says, " I guess we had the same idea"  Her hubby comes over and he was saying something to her then she asked me if there were anymore in there and I told her NO and if there were I would be grabbing those to so she says, " I guess it's your you grabbed it first."

Did she really think that was going to guilt me into giving it to her....lol  Not gonna happen, I had my heart set on these bad boys...

So, needless to say we ended up going to yet another Wal mart and I hit the jackpot there I was able to grab three more of them so I was okay for now.

I actually ended up leaving one of the four that they had in the Pittston, Pa store only becaue the dang thing had a chunk out of it and thankfully..... I didn't cut myself... I caught myself just as it was happening and I stopped.... the thought of it makes my stomach turn, just thinking about it.

So here's what we did.  You'd think that that huge label would be something that would just pull off pretty easy.  If your thinking that then your WRONG we ended up having to let them soak in the sink and then still had to use Goo Gone on them to take off the glue.

Here are the supplies that I used:

1. The glass block that measures 7" X 7" X 3"

2.  I picked out some cute Christmas colored ribbons  I got a whole mess of it because we used it on the wreathes and I use it on gifts but, here's one that I got specific for the glass blocks.
It's  a really nice shade of Burgandy I don't know why that in this picture it looks red but, it's not it's burgandy and it have gold accents (now normally I go for silver and not gold but, I thought that this looked more Christmasy.

Here's the other ribbon that I used for the second block.... I think this one is perfect for Christmas.

3.  Here are a few of the other items that I needed

It's just Ribbon, Florist wire and double sided tape (the good kind).

4. Then I need a small set of lights I wanted the ones that had the white wire in them and I really only needed a small set but,  I couldn't find them to save myself....lol so I will get them this time next year.  I hope  (X fingers X)  so for this project because I wanted to use them this year I'm using these.

5. The last thing I needed was something to add alittle bit of bling to it.

I am soooooooo excited and happy with how these turned out... I love what this looks like all lite up at night.  I'd love to have a whole bunch of these under the Christmas Tree next year.

This is what the first one looks like just sitting on the floor... I know the picture is alittle bit dark but, I wanted to show you how it looked with the soft glow of the lights.

But here's how the block looks during the day.

This is how I have them set up on the table in our family room.

I have them grouped together because right now I have the set split in half... 30 in one of the blocks and about 28 in the other one and that's plenty because for me the whole strand of 60 looked like too much.

Now here's how they look lite up at night while we're watching TV I just love this look.

I am soooo pleased with these they are so pretty sitting on the end table.  Thanks so very much for stopping on by today.  I hope that you all have a Safe and Happy Holiday Season.
Keep being crafty!!!

4 Days till Christmas (Do you remember this? Christmas Wreath....)

I was wondering if you remembered last week when I posted this lovely Blue Wreath that my husband made out of real pine.  In case you forgot here's a picture of it again.

And back then I told you that he also made a Red Wreath for our other door and I said that I'd share that picture later on.... Well today is your lucky day.

I think I like the Red one way better.... originally I was in love with the blue and silver one but, the red one has grown on me

I am so pleased with how the both of these wreathes came out.
I'm hoping he has the time to make me my centerpieces but, I don't know.  We'll see if he does I'll post a picture of that too.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog today I really appreciate it.
I hope your either finished shopping or really close to it....

Some More Spooktacular Projects

Here are a few more of my Spooktacular Projects

I forgot that I didn't put these up on here.  I came across the pictures today so I wanted to put them up on here.

First I'll show you the pics of the frames that I made.

These frames came from the dollar store and I dry brushed some black white and grey paint on them to give them a Halloweenie look.

I added tons of sparkle and glitter and rhinestones.  You really can't see them on here that well.  I inked alot of the edges on the papers as well.

****This post was actually from back in October.... I don't know why it never posted... I know what's happening when I'm pre-scheduling them they don't always post like they are supposed to be.

Oh well better late then never.

Some Signs that Spring has finally Sprung!!!!!

Some Signs That Spring Has Finally Sprung!!!

Okay so today I saw my third teeny tiny fawn.... It could hardly even walk behind it's protective mama... They look so cute.  I will post that picture alittle bit later cause it's on my camera still.

Today I was going through all of the pictures on my computer and I came across some really cute spring pictures that I had from last year so I wanted to post them
Here's one of my favs

I just love these butterflies and they just love my Rhoddie Tree ( I call it a tree cause it's huge...lol)

Here's one of Mr. Bee doing his job.

It wasn't easy trying to get just the right picture of this guy plus I hate it when they go buzzing on by.

Five days left till Christmas!!!

Todays Project I'm going to share with you some glitter ornaments that my daughter and I made last year..... Everyone has been making them.... Good news is they all survived our move and they are all happily perched on our "REAL" Chrismas Tree.

This is how they looked.  We picked them up on sale at Joannes

Then we used Dollar Store Wax inside of them.... I couldn't see wasting the good stuff and they worked out just fine

Here's my daughter pouring a whole bunch in the ornament... you have to put enough to get good coverage.

love the determination on her face trying to make sure not to spill it....

Then you swirl it all around and coat every spot.... Make sure to cover the hole or it will go all around the house and it wont be fun to clean up.

Then you pour out the excess:
Now onto the fun part!!!!

Adding your favorite glitter!!!  We used Martha Stewarts Glitter.

Then you shake it all about and get it fully covered.

Next step is to pour out the excess glitter

Lastly you have to let them fully dry out so they don't go moldy

Final step is to decorate the tree with you new ornaments... I forgot to add a picture of when we tied on the ribbon to hang them up.

I will be posting a picture of our Live Christmas Tree later on with all of these ornaments on it.... this year I didn't do the official decorating, the hubs put on the lights and the kids decorated.  I've been doing it for the last two years and this year the hubby was off and he did the honors of adding the lights, it's easier for him to he's way taller then me.

Thanks for stopping on by I appreciate it!!
Michelle

Hopefully I will be back later on today with a new post

My apologies for not posting more frequently.  With my recent illness, still don't know what caused my extreme anemia but, I will say it's taking awhile to get back into the swing of things.

also with the holidays I just keep making new cute little items for the house... I have been taking pictures so I envision getting them on the desktop computer so I can post them on here.

okay I'm officially off to bed oh btw...

I clentched my division for my fantasy football team.....woo hoo me it's a record for me.... hoping that my other man Frank Gore can pull me through to this weeks victory!!!!

Good Night,
Michelle

ps. Keep being Scrappy
